Gloria Gaynor To Perform “I Will Survive” In Times Square For New Years Eve Festivities

Gloria Gaynor, the two-time Grammy winner, will perform her breakup anthem “I Will Survive” at an event on New Year’s Eve in Times Square. The Times Square Alliance event “Heroes of 2020”, will honor essential workers and their families. President of the alliance, Tim Tompkins, said “this year, it feels most appropriate to shine a spotlight on the individuals who are tirelessly leading our nation through hard times with unshakable strength, determination and poise, as well as their families, who deal with their own set of sacrifices.” The event will not be open to the public but it will be streamed on several sites. Social media users have said the song is “fitting” to send 2020 on its way.
