Good News: A Golf Cart Ship, a Brush Fire, and an Artist’s Epic Comeback
Here are a few more good news stories making the rounds . . .
1. An artist in L.A. named Richard Hutchins used to be well-known. Years ago, he was commissioned to do paintings for Muhammad Ali, Richard Pryor, and Marvin Gaye. But he’s been homeless for years after his art studio burned down.
Now he’s back on top though after the rapper 2 Chainz’ ex-manager discovered him outside a grocery store in April. Since then, he’s sold about $200,000 worth of art. And now a movie about his life is already in the works.
2. The town of Braidwood, Illinois does an annual parade for charity where people decorate golf carts. And the guy who won last year is about to win again . . . after converting a golf cart into a drivable Navy destroyer.
3. A small brush fire broke out on the side of the road in Oregon on Sunday. But then random people who were stuck in traffic put it out with water bottles.
4. Gerber announced its new “spokesbaby” for 2021 yesterday. He’s a four-month-old from Florida named Zane. His parents get $25,000 . . . free Gerber products for a year . . . and $1,000 worth of baby clothes.
5. A new study out yesterday found most people who got the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines might not need a booster shot. It’s looking like it could protect you from existing COVID strains for years, or maybe even your whole life.
