Good News: A Guy Ran 43 Miles for Charity on His 43rd Birthday, and the Inauguration’s “Youth Poet” Is Now a Best-Seller on Amazon

Here are a few more good news stories making the rounds . . .

1.  A guy in North Carolina raised a bunch of money for charity by running 43 miles on his 43rd birthday.

2.  For his sixth birthday, a kid in the U.K. with spina bifida wanted to stay in the hotel his family always goes to on vacation.  But he’s high-risk.  So his parents recreated one of the rooms in their own house.  Then the hotel heard about it . . . sent them a bunch of swag . . . and gave them a voucher for a free stay once the pandemic is over.

3.  Have you seen the mailbox-sized “free libraries” that have popped up around the country?  Well, now a woman in Seattle is doing the same thing, but with art.  She installed a “Little Free Art Gallery” where people can share tiny pieces of art they create.  And if you see something you like, you’re allowed to take it.

4.  Amanda Gorman spoke at the inauguration this week.  She’s the “youth poet laureate” who read near the end.  And just hours after her speech, she found out two books she’s working on had already hit the TOP of Amazon’s best seller list.

They’re not even out yet, so it’s just pre-sales.  One is a collection of her poetry.  The other is a kids’ book called Change Sings.  Both come out this September.
