Good News: Christmas Gifts, Bread Trucks, and Kangaroos

Here are a few more good news stories making the rounds . . .

1.  A woman in North Carolina gave her husband a lottery ticket for Christmas, and it hit for a million bucks.

2.  Cops in New Hampshire responded to a call about a dog that was loose on the highway on Monday.  Then the dog led them to a damaged guardrail, and they realized its owner had been in a serious wreck.  He and a passenger had both been ejected from the car, and they had hypothermia.  But cops found them in time, and they made it.

3.  A 17-year-old girl in Australia got a job as a lifeguard at the beach, and just saved her first life . . . a kangaroo.  She was on duty last Friday when a freaked-out kangaroo got confused and ended up in the water.  So she jumped in to help coax it back to shore, and it’s fine.  It got back to the beach and hopped off into some woods.

4.  A woman named Casey Noe got stuck in the I-95 traffic jam this week with her husband.  And after 21 hours, they were starving, when they noticed a big bread truck that was also stranded.

It was a delivery truck for a company called Schmidt Baking.  So Casey called customer service to see if they’d let the driver hand out bread to people.  Then the owner called her back, approved it and they handed out loaves of bread to more than 50 cars.
