Good News: Dress Shoes, Student Debt, and High School Sweethearts

Here are a few more good news stories making the rounds . . .

1.  Right before Memorial Day, an Army veteran in New Jersey named Marty Weber donated 36 acres of land for a good cause.  He’s helping set up a new treatment center and retreat for homeless vets struggling with addiction and mental illness.

2.  A high schooler in Louisiana wasn’t going to be able to walk at his graduation last month, because he wore sneakers instead of dress shoes with his cap and gown.  So his teacher loaned him HIS shoes, and went to the ceremony in just his socks.

3.  A private college in Ohio called Wilberforce University had its graduation on Saturday for its class of 2021 AND 2020.  And during his speech, the president of the university announced they were forgiving all of their student debt.

4.  Two high school sweethearts in England who broke up 20 years ago recently got back together . . . got MARRIED . . . and the guy proposed with the same promise ring he gave her when they were 15.
