Jaguars Lineman Delivers Newborn Daughter - In His Living Room

Jags defensive lineman Dawuane Smoot came through in the clutch in a big way – and not on the football field.

On Tuesday, Smoot’s pregnant wife Aumari unexpectedly went into labor – and collapsed on the floor before they could leave for the hospital.

Smoot got on the phone with paramedics, who talked him through delivering his newborn daughter, right there in the living room. Mom, Dad, and the baby – Ahlani Moon Smoot – are all healthy and safe.

Dawuane posted a photo of the newborn to Instagram, writing “nothing could have prepared us for this”. Smoot will get some extra time to spend with his family – the Jags are on a bye this week.
