Man Who Assaulted NBC News Reporter During Ida Coverage Arrested

The man accused of assaulting an NBC News reporter covering Hurricane Ida has been arrested.

Reporter Shaquille Brewster was reporting from Gulfport, Mississippi when a man driving a white pickup truck began harassing him, lunging forward and screaming in Brewster’s face before the camera cut away.

54-year-old Benjamin Dagley was arrested in Dayton, OH.  He faces charges of simple assault, disturbing the peace, and violating curfew. He was also wanted in Ohio on a previous probation violation.
