McDonald’s New Fried Chicken Sandwich Gears Up To Battle Popeyes And Chick-fil-A

A new chicken sandwich is coming to town. McDonald’s is gearing up to release a new chicken sandwich early next year to compete against Popeyes and Chick-Fil-A, who have seen their chicken sandwich sales grow. McDonald’s new chicken sandwich will feature a fried chicken filet served on a buttery potato roll, topped with butter and pickles. The deluxe version will have lettuce, tomato, and mayo.  Franchisees asked for a southern-style chicken sandwich as Chick-Fil-A and Popeye’s sandwiches were threatening their businesses. McDonald’s had to delay the release of the sandwich due to the coronavirus and will wait until next year when dining at restaurants should increase.
