More “Good News” Stories from the Coronavirus Outbreak – Tuesday Edition
Here are a few more good news stories from the outbreak . . .
1. Pfizer says its vaccine is over 90% effective at preventing people from getting the virus. Which is HUGE news, because it means the vaccines could really help us get things under control.
Officials like Dr. Fauci were worried they might only be 50 to 70% effective. And if only half of us were willing to get a vaccine, it might not do much. So over 90% is a really big deal. Just to compare, flu vaccines are only 40 to 60% effective most years.
2. When the pandemic hit, a woman in England named Nina Ambrose couldn’t visit her dad, who has Alzheimer’s. So she got around it by volunteering at his nursing home. And now she sees him every day. She says she’s even thinking about a career change, because she likes working there so much.
3. A bar in New Jersey had to close down the other day after someone who worked there tested positive, and ALL the employees had been exposed. But then the owner of a barber shop down the street heard about it . . . and sent HIS employees over to work the bar, just so they could stay open.
