New Stimulus Package Includes Stimulus Checks

Congressional leaders are close to an agreement on a long-delayed COVID-19 relief package.  They are hoping to get a deal done as early as Wednesday that would send aid to individuals and businesses and help get coronavirus vaccines to millions.

The bill would include a new round of stimulus checks, federal unemployment insurance benefits and other ways to deliver aid to states. President-Elect Joe Biden voiced support  for a new stimulus package that would include aid to state and local governments for COVID-19 vaccinations and testing.

Aid talks have increased in recent days as lawmakers hurry to avoid going home for the holidays without a deal done.
