Ozone Layer On Track to Recover in 40 Years
Things may be looking better for Earth in the future. According to experts with the United Nations, the Earth’s ozone layer could recover in the next 40 years!
The ozone layer keeps the planet’s inhabitants safe from the ultraviolet radiation of the sun. “Ozone action sets a precedent for climate action,” World Meteorological Organization Secretary-General Petteri Taalas said in a statement. “Our success in phasing out ozone-eating chemicals shows us what can and must be done – as a matter of urgency – to transition away from fossil fuels, reduce greenhouse gases and so limit temperature increase.”
