Powerball Jackpot Tops $1 Billion

For just the second time ever, the Powerball drawing has topped $1 billion.

That’s the estimate value of Monday’s drawing, after no one matched Saturday’s $825 million grand prize.

Of course, the ‘real’ value of the jackpot is a lot lower – winners who opt for the immediate cash payout will “only” get $497 million.

The biggest Powerball jackpot ever was $1.586 billion, which was shared by three winners in 2016.
