Severe storms likely with large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes this afternoon and tonight.

A chance for strong to severe storms remains over the area, mainly targeting northern Iowa into southern Minnesota, where the potential for all modes of severe weather, including large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes exists.

As you work south into central Iowa, there too is a risk for severe weather but the uncertainty also increases. Regardless, be sure to pay attention to the weather this evening if out and about!

One thing the is definitely certain though, is that a cold front will move through this evening and overnight, dropping temperatures back into early spring territory.
