A 27-year-old man from St. Louis was arrested by Eureka Police for allegedly stealing sunglasses from a shop at the Six Flags amusement park, located at 4900 Six Flags Road. The man was also charged with resisting arrest. Additionally, it was revealed that the suspect had an outstanding felony assault warrant issued by the St. Louis Police.

At approximately 7 p.m. on July 25, park employees apprehended a man who had allegedly stolen a pair of sunglasses worth $17. Despite the employees’ attempts to escort him to the park’s loss prevention office, the man refused and attempted to leave the premises.

The man was cornered by the employees near the exit, and when an officer arrived, he instructed the employees to release him. The officer then approached the man and ordered him to stop as he made his way towards the parking lot. However, the man disregarded the officer’s instructions and continued walking, as stated in the report.

The officer warned the man that he would face arrest for shoplifting if he continued to walk away. However, the man persisted and continued to make his way towards the parking lot. In response, the officer firmly took hold of the man’s arm and made an attempt to apprehend him, as stated in the report.

According to the report, the man was said to have continued resisting the officer’s attempts to apprehend him. However, with the arrival of a second officer, the man was eventually subdued and taken into custody. He was then transported to the Police Station, where he underwent booking procedures and was held for the St. Louis Police.

According to Capt. Michael Werges, the man has been issued summons by the Eureka Police to appear in Eureka Municipal Court. The charges against him include alleged stealing and resisting arrest.
