That Voice At The McDonald’s Drive-Thru Might Be A Computer

Times really are tough out there – even Alexa is getting a part-time job at McDonald’s.
The fast-food chain is testing out a voice-driven AI program – similar to Alexa or Siri – in drive-thru lanes to help speed up service. That means the voice you hear coming through the speaker might not be a real person. McDonald’s has been focused on reducing drive-thru time for customers – especially with a surge of drive-thru traffic due to the pandemic.
