UPDATED — Severe Storms Possible Today

Severe weather is possible again today.  The updated forecast from the National Weather Service has a “Slight Risk” of Severe weather for areas west of I-35.

Severe storms are possible by late this afternoon and tonight as a cold front passes across the state. Large hail and damaging winds are the main threats with these storms though an isolated tornado may occur. In addition, locally heavy rainfall may occur.

Additional areas of heavy rainfall are possible through tonight. Expect thunderstorms to redevelop this afternoon over western Iowa then move east overnight. Heavy rainfall and localized flash flooding may occur with these storms.
