Which States Have The Best (And Worst) Tippers?
A new report shows which U.S. states are the best – and worst – at tipping.
According to the restaurant point-of-sale system Toast, Delaware boasts the most generous tippers in the nation – averaging 21.3%.
Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Ohio round out the top five.
The stingiest tippers? They’re found in California, which averages just 17.4% – followed by Washington, Florida, Hawaii, and New York.
Overall, the average tip across the U.S. is 18.9%.
