WHO: Nearly 15M Deaths Associated with Covid-19
Data from the World Health Organization shows that almost 15 million people have died due to Covid-19 in the past two years.
The reported deaths are from both direct infections of the virus and indirect impacts on health and medical care being overwhelmed.
This makes the number double the initially reported 6 million. The majority of deaths occurred in Southeast Asia, the Americas, and Europe.
It was recently reported that the U.S. alone has had over one million deaths tied to Covid-19.
The deaths were calculated by finding the difference between the number of deaths that occurred and the number expected if there was no COVID-19 pandemic based on data from previous years.https://t.co/OacxyT7tXe
