Alcohol Sales Surged On Election Night
When not Googleing “How to move to Canada,” Americans were tossing back drinks on Election Day. According to data from alcohol delivery company Drizly, there was a 75.3% increase in deliveries compared to the previous month to those living in blue states, while swing states saw a 54.8% jump. New York City and Washington, D.C. had sales more than double, with Boston increasing a whopping 83%. What were we buying? Wine made up 42% of its sales, another 41% were liquor, and 15% were beer.
