Egg Prices Soared 70% in a Year

Buying eggs at the grocery store has become quite a pricey ordeal.
According to data from the Consumer Price Index, the price of eggs has risen 70% since January of 2022. The median cost for eggs has been $4.82.
While the cost of eggs at the store may still be shocking, a report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture shows that prices have been lowering weekly.
The high prices have mostly been cited to be due to the 2022 outbreak of the avian flu.
