Choral fans across North Iowa are in for a treat May 11 as Una Vocis Choral Ensemble joins musical forces with NordKor Youth Choir in their spring concert, Humanity, a choral concert exploring the human experience.

MASON CITY, IA — May is National Mental Health Awareness Month and local organizations are working  together to spread the message. The Mason City Chamber, Community Health Center of Mason City, City of  Mason City, and CG Public Health are hosting Mason City’s “Make It OK” Walk on Thursday, May 16 to raise  awareness and end the stigma associated with mental health.

May is National Mental Health Awareness month with the 16 th being the day designated to recognize this important effort. The Mason City library is promoting mental health awareness throughout the month with a display in the first floor of the book stacks and free information packets including an awareness button near the main desk.

Come out to North Iowa Air Service for pancakes, ham, and scrambled eggs to support your local Kiwanis. Dine-in and carry out options available! Airplane rides (weather permitting) will be available. Saturday May 18th from 7:00 AM until Noon!

A Splash and Dash is a fun and fast-growing sport that combines swimming and running. The TRI Clear Lake Splash and Dash is a participatory event for kids ages 7-15 with an emphasis on creating a fun family weekend of multisport and fitness. As an official part of the USA Triathlon Youth Aquathlon Series, every participant will receive a finisher medal and swag.

The Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is host to the TRI Clear Lake Triathlon, sanctioned by USA Triathlon will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024. The race will start and end in downtown Clear Lake! The scenic course will commence at City Beach; the flat-and-fast one-or two-loop bike course guides athletes out and back along South Shore Drive.

The Stu Nevermann Memorial Run is Saturday May 25th at the Mason City Aquatic Center. Run starts at 8:00 AM and concludes right before the North Iowa Band Festival Parade.
