Florida’s Coral Reefs Are Eroding
More than 70% of Florida’s coral reefs are dying out, scientists warn.
Researchers at the University of Miami say the reefs are eroding, destroying habitat for parrotfish and other tropical creatures.
The loss of reefs also hurts the economy and leaves the Florida coast more susceptible to flooding or storm surges.
The Florida Reef Tract stretches for over 350 miles and is the third-largest coral barrier reef in the world.
