It’s fairly well known that you shouldn’t eat raw cookie dough, but there are some foods that if eaten raw can actually be poisonous.
“Eat This Not That” has put out a list of 30 foods that shouldn’t be eaten raw.
A few surprising foods to make the list include potatoes which contain toxic compounds that can mess with your digestive system, lima beans, which contain cyanide until fully cooked, and flour which can cause E. coli.
Foods making this list that are not poisonous if eaten raw, but have a nutritional benefit from being cooked, include broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, and kale.
