Motorcyclist Saved by Apple Watch
Clearly, the future has arrived. For proof, one needn’t look any further than Singapore, where a motorcyclist’s life was saved by his Apple Watch.
Muhammad Fitri was out and about earlier this week when he was in a hit-and-run collision with a van, police say.
Fitri was thrown from his motorcycle and knocked unconscious, leaving him to bleed out in the remote area. But that’s when his Apple Watch kicked in.
Using its SOS function, the watch detected that Fitri was in trouble and automatically contacted emergency workers, using GPS to guide them to his location.
The watch also alerted Fitri’s girlfriend, who was listed as a trusted contact, police say.
Fitri is now expected to make a full recovery — thanks to his Apple Watch.
After being knocked off his bike and left unconscious (the suspect in a van fleeing the scene), a Singapore motorcyclist is helped by an unlikely ally… his Apple Watch! ???
