New Entertainment for Christmas by the Lake
The Cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Ensemble from the Twin Cities will be the centerpiece of the additional entertainment components at the December 3rd festivities in Clear Lake. This colorful dance and song troupe is known for captivating audiences with its rich repertoire of traditional folk dances, representing diverse regions of Ukraine.
They will be performing in the Sukup auditorium of the Clear Lake Arts Center at 12:30, 2:30 & 4:00. They are being sponsored by Clear Lake’s Lodge 187 of the IOOF (Independent Order of Odd Fellows.)
Also new to the entertainment activities will be a mini-carousel ride for children provided by Legendary Carousels of central Nebraska. That will be set up near the Santa House in city park. North Iowa’s music family dad, Ken Wind, will be introduced with his bag-piping skills on Main Avenue from 12:00-2:00. Neal Simmons from Florida, a rising star on the coffee shop and bar music scene, will be performing as the street corner busker on harmonica and tambourine.
These new offerings will be joined by many of the traditional Victorian characters that enliven the day, such as the seven-foot Fr. Christmas, the Snow Princess and popular Nigel the Nice elf. Most of these professional
actors can be encountered in downtown Clear Lake from 2:00 to 5:00pm.
