NFL: No Plans To Resume Bills-Bengals Game This Week

Monday’s Bills-Bengals game — which was called off after Damar Hamlin went into cardiac arrest during the first quarter — will not resume this week, the NFL has announced.

“After speaking with both teams and NFLPA leadership, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell informed the clubs today that the Bills-Bengals game will not be resumed this week,” reads a statement released by the league on Tuesday. “The NFL has made no decision regarding the possible resumption of the game at a later date.

The NFL continues to be in regular contact with the medical team caring for Damar Hamlin, and also the Bills and Bengals organizations and the NFL Players Association.” Meanwhile, Hamlin — who suffered the heart attack after tackling Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins with 5:58 remaining in the first quarter — remains in critical condition at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, the Bills revealed on Tuesday.
