Olivia Newton-John, Grammy-winning singer and “Grease” star, dead at 73
Chart-topping singer, actress, and activist Olivia Newton-John has died, according to a post on her Instagram feed. She was 73.
“Dame Olivia Newton-John passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends,” reads the note. “We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”
Originally diagnosed with breast cancer in the nineties, Newton-John was in remission for more than twenty years before her cancer returned in 2017.
No cause of death has yet been disclosed.
