Public Transit Use Still Far Below Pre-Pandemic Levels
Public transit has struggled to regain riders ever since the pandemic.
While traffic and air travel have mostly returned to pre-pandemic levels, the use of trains or buses remains down by more than 40%.
Analysts say the number of people still working from home means that public transit isn’t as necessary as it used to be – and believe that a full recovery could take several years.
