Scammers Send Fake Text Messages From The DMV

The latest online scam to watch out for?  Fake text messages claiming to be from the DMV.

Authorities in Illinois say someone has been sending out text messages and emails claiming to be from the DMV or Secretary of State’s office – and trying to get your Social Security number.

Experts say text message scams are on the rise due to the pandemic – and remind you to always be careful with your data and skeptical of any text or email asking for personal information.
