Should You Get An Omicron Booster?

Two new COVID-19 booster vaccines, ones that target the highly contagious Omicron variant, are rolling out in the coming days.

So should you get one? CDC director Rochelle Walensky told NPR there’s “no bad time to go out and get one” as long as you’re eligible.

The Moderna booster is available to anyone 18 or older, while the Pfizer-BioNTech booster is approved for ages 12 and over.

It should also be at least two months since your last COVID-19 shot – Walensky says “if you’re three, four, five months after your last shot, now is the time to go ahead and get it.”
