The Color Purple made box office history on Christmas Day.
The musical adaptation of the classic Alice Walker novel topped the box office with $18 million on Monday.
That’s the second-biggest Christmas Day opening ever, and the largest since 2009.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom took second place with $10.8 million, followed by Wonka at $10.3 million.
Did you venture out to a movie on Christmas day? I didn’t this year, but have in the past….. or maybe you stayed in to watch a Holiday Favorite?! What is your favorite!?
