TikTok Blamed For a Rise in Car Thefts

There is a rise in car thefts across the U.S. and social media may be to blame.

According to data from USAFacts.org, there was a rise in car thefts in major U.S. cities between 2019 and 2022. Apparently, the rise is due to a TikTok trend showing how to steal Kias and Hyundais.

In response to this news, TikTok shared a statement saying that it “does not condone this behavior which violates our policies and will be removed if found on our platform.”
