United Way of North Central Iowa kicked off its 2022 Fundraising Campaign

MASON CITY, IOWA – On August 18th, United Way of North Central Iowa kicked off its 2022 Fundraising Campaign. The Campaign Kickoff marks the start of United Way’s annual fundraising effort and the start of the fundraising season. This year, our campaign slogan is “United Way is All of Us” recognizing that all of us together are truly creating change in north Iowa through volunteering, donating, and advocating. We believe that if we all come together, we can make landmark changes in our north central Iowa communities. 

This year, United Way of North Central Iowa is excited to have Joe Malone as our 2022 Campaign Chair! Joe is the host of The Joe Show 5am – 10am on Star 106 3pm – 6pm on Super Hits 102.7, Public Address Announcer for the North Iowa Bulls, and Mason City Toros, and T-Ball and soccer coach with Mason City Parks and Recreation. Joe is dedicated to our north Iowa community, and he knows the importance of giving back and supporting our friends and neighbors right here in north central Iowa. 

 United Way funded twenty-one local programs for 2022 providing food, shelter, healthcare, victim services and educational initiatives including childcare assistance. Strained agency budgets led to funding requests which exceeded available United Way funds. Each year, United Way receives double the requests for funding than we can provide which means each year our area’s needs grow.

United Way’s annual campaign is a vital part of the organization’s work because every dollar given to United Way goes to support local programs right here in north Iowa. United Way believes a successful campaign isn’t defined by reaching a monetary goal but rather the ability to meet every funding request that creates positive, measurable outcomes in our community.
